[ Pops back in to continue washing himself off. Once he's finished, he gets the towel from the rack, dries himself off, and wraps it around his waist. He exits the bathroom and stands before Rowena, gesturing for his body. ]

But hey, eating your dinner off me doesn't sound like a bad idea, you know.

( she cups his cheek gently )

When I eat dinner from you you'll know.

( because she'll blow him too. but that's not tonight.

her fingers linger for a few seconds before she disappears into the bathroom, the running of the water starting again as she freshens herself up, the door closed behind her. she's taking a few moments, spending longer than he had there.

when she returns she dresses, going a little slower on moments where she knows he's watching, before finishing. and if her hair looks perfectly in place again that's as much magic as it is the time spent in the bathroom )

( though if he's not ready yet he'll earn a pointed look )

[ Well, that a reassurance like any other. Johnny will hold Rowena to that.

While she takes her time inside the bathroom, Johnny doesn't take too long to get ready. He dries himself off, puts on a form-fitting shirt and jeans plus a varsity jacket and sneakers. Once she's finished and outside dressing up, he does watch her and smirks when he knows she's slowing down on purpose. What a tease.

As soon as she's completely done, he approaches her and extends an arm for her to take. ] We shall! [ Smiles, then - ] Oh, but one more thing - [ As soon as Rowena loops her arm around his, he'll lean in to gently kiss her, just a soft press, because he's a Good Boy like that. ]

( the kiss surprises her, rowena not yet used to small displays of affection. even in the men she'd tried romancing, ones she'd never enjoyed the company of like this, she'd been surprised at their little affections, though her barriers then had lessened some of it unless she'd initiated it. now rowena's at least more open to these affections, even if they're still very new to her )

I don't intend to linger long, dinner, one small errand and then we'll return.

( though she intended to spend that night in her bed alone, not inviting him too much too soon. time for fun and time for sleep, and she enjoyed her sleep )

[ Johnny shrugs and beckons for them to start leaving. ]

Yeah, sure. Don't have anything planned for tonight, anyway. This place can be pretty boring outside the horrible stuff they can make us do.

[ He also doesn't expect to sleep with her tonight immediately. It's a little too soon for them, he thinks. ]

That is why we make our own fun.

( as they had. and she certainly had other hobbies ("hobbies") she leaned into. though she knew that some of his weren't possible here )

[ He sighs, half rolling his eyes a bit. ]

Sure, if I can find a good slope to go sledding to or if I can find an indoor motocross track in this stupid island. Heck, I'm willing to have a dirtbike ramp!

But, first! I need to actually get a bike. [ His problems, they are important and many. ]

( she pats his arm gently as they walk )

Though you could always find something else in the interim? Has anyone ever suggested knitting?

( she's entirely joking at the knitting part, though finding a new hobby whilst he gets more settled (and she does) could be good for him )

There are many places in this city I have yet to explore.

Knitting? Do I look like someone who's gonna sit still and do that?

[ Because of course he reacts to that. He's pretty easy to rile up. The idea of exploring, though, as him nodding and smirking. ]

But hey, that's a great idea! We can explore together if you want. [ But if she doesn't want the company. ] Or I can explore by myself, it's totally fine.

You could see what there is, see if there's anything worth showing me.

( she's very situational on her exploration. she much prefers already having the information )

Whether it's the shops or the woods.

[ He grins at her while they walk. ]

Gotcha, sounds like a solid plan. I'll be able to explore faster just by flying anyway. [ Can't get rid of being a show-off. ]

( she doesn't hide the exaggerated roll of her eyes here. true power doesn't need to show off, jonathan, take it from the witch beside you. true power )

it's a few more turns before the get to the restaurant, rowena unhooking from his arm to enter first, getting them shown to a table )

[ Johnny sees her rolling her eyes at him and he's used to it by now. So much so that he just smiles and gives her a thumbs up. ]

I know you get worried about me, but I'll be fine.

[ That smile turns into a smirk, his eyebrows waggling a bit, before he lets her enter the restaurant first, following not far behind her. ]

It's concern for me.

( she only continues once they're at the table, and whilst rowena may have some fondness now for johnny it's not quite enough for her to admit that she cares about him. she doesn't even admit those things to herself )

I'd hate to have to find someone to replace you with so soon.

( a little smile before she picks up the menu, opening it to find her order )

[ Johnny just smirks at that because his proud little boy brain knows Rowena's just denying it. That she must care about him and she's just not admitting it. He's not going to push it, though, because he damn well knows it is.

Opening the menu in front of him, too, he replies. ]

Yeah, because I don't think you'd be able to find someone like me in such short notice. Someone cute, gorgeous, hot.

[ He briefly pulls down the menu to smile at her knowingly. ] I think I'll just have the steak.

Perhaps quiet will be what I look for next. Someone... tame.

( except, for all of her current protests, rowena did enjoy that he was confident and knew his mind, even if she wanted to train him better, to know when to keep a lid on that confidence.

she closed her menu, ordering a chicken salad for herself, the steak for him and a bottle of wine )

But that's not really a topic we need... we were finding you something to do.

[ Johnny can't help the snort he lets out when Rowena told him she'd rather prefer someone quiet and tame. That someone will be boring and he hopes she understands that.

Once she's finished ordering, and told him they're finding something for him to do, he gets comfortable, arms resting on the back seat of the chair. ]

Okaaay but what will that be? Like I said, nowhere to sled to. No motocross ramps. Just pure dystopian stuff. It's really boring here when you're not having sex.

You could have more sex.

( even though it's not a solution for all of his boredom it's a little nudge that she doesn’t expect him to only fulfil his quota with her. though she also doesn't believe that he would, not with how sex-positive he was. and rowena wasn't going to only sleep with him either )

Before this city I'd never worked. Now... I had to find something to earn money with.

( since the tricks she'd used to get money at home weren't quite so applicable here, not when many of the store owners or people she encountered were in the same situation that she was. she wasn't going to swindle them )

We all adjust somewhere. Your new hobbies might need to find a new interest since your dangers aren't here.

I mean, yeah, 'course I'll have more sex. There's a number of good babes here.

[ That's not even out of the question for Johnny. He knows Rowena will let him have sex with anybody else anyway. He'll allow her, too, not that he even has a say on it given she's the Dominant and a pretty independent, strong-willed woman. ]

Well, maybe I can work in some of the establishments here as security or something. [ He's considering it but also not. He kind of likes the whole sugar baby thing going on here, if he has to be honest with himself. But he knows he'll get bored pretty quick and get antsy, so working is definitely on the plate for Johnny. ] Put my powers to good use and all that. I'm not all show-off, you know.

What're you thinking of earning money with?

( a raised eyebrow because he hasn't shown her that yet. but she's certainly approving of the idea -- working in security would be particularly useful and maybe she'll use that idea to help nudge him towards somewhere she's interested in. in case he heard information )

I've been offering tarot readings.

( something that rowena was very knowledgable in though had practiced less than some of her other talents, more when she needed it than a daily practice. and whilst modern witches had popularised the practice (which she loathed, the accessory of the tool and talent) it was a useful idea for her to pull on now. and it was a simple way for her to make some money now until she found a better way )

Something that many are interested in. A hobby more than a job.

[ Johnny slowly nods, taking in what she just said. He has always believed that people should do whatever they like and Rowena's pretty good with magic, so he approves of this. ]

Hey, pretty good idea! I can see it, you opening a shop. People lining up to get their fortunes. Maybe I can even snag you some customers. Chicks love that kinda stuff.

[ He'll bring it up during their pillowtalks or maybe even tell them they can't have sex with the gorgeous Johnny Storm if they don't get a reading. It'll be perfect! ]

( she's actually slightly speechless by the idea, silenced herself for a few seconds. whilst rowena knows the popularity of tarot and occult shops she's never associated herself with them despite wanting to be surrounded by magic )

What many people view as magic fails to grasp the essence of it. Parlour tricks and... cheap ideas, a look that they take.

( she's very judgy on this but she's not ashamed of the opinions. practitioners, whether they were naturals or students she accepted. people using the idea? it wasn't magic. and it kept her distance as much as borrowers did )

Whilst it might seem fitting, surrounded by magic... magic needs a delicate balance, most don't appreciate hearing that when they wish for a spell.

[ He raises his hands and pouts a little. ]

Well, your expertise, not mine. Was just giving a suggestion. [ Shrugs. ] Totally up to you how you wanna do this.

[ Johnny doesn't want to overstep (yes, wow a miracle) because magic isn't his thing and he knows by now that she gets defensive about the topic. Which, fair. It's her thing. ]

If things go to plan I won't need to work.

( which she says with confidence. part of that plan is squirrelling away the tarot funds, part is seeing where else she can get her claws into. and part is the money he'll bring in. sugar dom with his own money. and she's pretty confident that she can be in this city without being bored, it's a life she's used to.

but they're paused, their meals being brought over, rowena allowing the waiter to pour the wine for her with a small smile )
