[ Johnny can't help the snort he lets out when Rowena told him she'd rather prefer someone quiet and tame. That someone will be boring and he hopes she understands that.

Once she's finished ordering, and told him they're finding something for him to do, he gets comfortable, arms resting on the back seat of the chair. ]

( something that rowena was very knowledgable in though had practiced less than some of her other talents, more when she needed it than a daily practice. and whilst modern witches had popularised the practice (which she loathed, the accessory of the tool and talent) it was a useful idea for her to pull on now. and it was a simple way for her to make some money now until she found a better way )

Something that many are interested in. A hobby more than a job.

[ Johnny slowly nods, taking in what she just said. He has always believed that people should do whatever they like and Rowena's pretty good with magic, so he approves of this. ]

Hey, pretty good idea! I can see it, you opening a shop. People lining up to get their fortunes. Maybe I can even snag you some customers. Chicks love that kinda stuff.

[ He'll bring it up during their pillowtalks or maybe even tell them they can't have sex with the gorgeous Johnny Storm if they don't get a reading. It'll be perfect! ]

( she's actually slightly speechless by the idea, silenced herself for a few seconds. whilst rowena knows the popularity of tarot and occult shops she's never associated herself with them despite wanting to be surrounded by magic )

What many people view as magic fails to grasp the essence of it. Parlour tricks and... cheap ideas, a look that they take.

( she's very judgy on this but she's not ashamed of the opinions. practitioners, whether they were naturals or students she accepted. people using the idea? it wasn't magic. and it kept her distance as much as borrowers did )

Whilst it might seem fitting, surrounded by magic... magic needs a delicate balance, most don't appreciate hearing that when they wish for a spell.

[ He raises his hands and pouts a little. ]

Well, your expertise, not mine. Was just giving a suggestion. [ Shrugs. ] Totally up to you how you wanna do this.

[ Johnny doesn't want to overstep (yes, wow a miracle) because magic isn't his thing and he knows by now that she gets defensive about the topic. Which, fair. It's her thing. ]

If things go to plan I won't need to work.

( which she says with confidence. part of that plan is squirrelling away the tarot funds, part is seeing where else she can get her claws into. and part is the money he'll bring in. sugar dom with his own money. and she's pretty confident that she can be in this city without being bored, it's a life she's used to.

but they're paused, their meals being brought over, rowena allowing the waiter to pour the wine for her with a small smile )

[ Johnny answers her question with an amused arched brow and a nod. Of course it matters when he benefits because he's the sugar baby here. Truthfully, though, he trusts her plans anyway. But her admittance on him playing a key role gets a playful smirk from him. ]

[ He shrugs, implying that he'll be out very late with whoever he might end up snagging. Johnny's aware there's probably nothing between them, so he's very casual with his exploits. He's sure she's not going to be jealous in any way. ]

Or another better idea: I can tell you all about it tomorrow morning.

[ He's also very easy to read so this is all just him being honest and not him trying to make her jealous, if he's nonchalance about the whole thing is any indication. ]

( a raised eyebrow, finishing her glass of wine )

( not that it would take all day and maybe she could rile him up a little as he told her. plans could be flexible.

she beckons over a waiter to pay their bill, getting the bottle of wine sealed to take with them )

We'll have to see how good your night is.

[ And Johnny will be quick to point that out - ]

That won't take all day. I'll come back tomorrow morning... [ Pauses, then retracts. ] Or whenever I wake up.

If my night is bad, I'll be home earlier. If not, well - [ Smirk goes here as he gets up so they can leave the restaurant and proceed to her errand. ] - maybe I'll be home by noontime, give or take. And I'll tell you all about it. How they had their hands all over me. [ Again, it's not clear whether he's just teasing or being honest, but his tone suggests the former even if it's actually the latter. ]

( she rolls her eyes at his comments, handing the bag with the wine in it to him once they're outside, resting her hand on his arm again and giving it a light pat )

( and she's quickly learning how to get under his skin. which is all rowena wants, really, excellent sex for herself with someone that really does want to please her. it's why the comments don't matter to her, or him sleeping with others, there's no jealousy or comparison, she's not going to try and do better than anyone else. she'll just fuck him, tease him, and at the same time potentially do what someone else can't. not because she can but because she enjoys it.

( and since he specifically had asked she would make him wait. she wasn't against sleeping with him again that night but this felt a little better. spacing him out, and she didn’t need sex quite as frequently as he wished. and for her she figured she'd enjoy it more later )
