( it had been a long time since rowena had returned to this cabin, a century since she'd been trained, decades since they'd last drank and had tea. neither of them were sentimental but she'd sent letters, checked in astrally when it had been too long or she'd wanted to talk. joan was one of the few friends that rowena had and one of the few witches who didn't hate her. and she'd helped make her the witch she was today.
that was why she was there now, having travelled from where she'd been staying in london. she hadn't felt it happen exactly, but something in rowena had known when her mentor had died.
so she'd taken the trip, a light bag with her, and as rowena approached the cabin now she could feel the power of the witch inside. (and perhaps it's rowena's presence that makes any lingering nightcomers disappear). and even though this witch has passed her mentor's wards... was she another being helped or the one who'd killed her?
it's why she astral projects when she's at the door rather than knocking on it, appearing as an image inside the cabin, hood of her black travelling cloak down, her wild curls tucked beneath, and it's easy to spot the sight of the other witch there )

Who are you?
( said cautiously but also a little dangerously )
